What occasions warrant busting out the Air Jordans?

Cheap Air Jordan / Cheap Jordan Shoes

So, if you’ve purchased a pair of Jordans recently or are thinking about buying some in the future you might be asking yourself, “What is the appropriate occasion to wear these Jordans to?”. Well let’s start with the obvious one, on the court. The purpose of Jordans at release was to be a shoe that is suitable for wearing on the basketball court, this was apparent from the start when Michael Jordan wore the first Air Jordan 1’s to every game despite being fined $5000per game for doing so. The high AJ1’s are optimal as that go up past the ankle giving excellent support.

When rocking a casual outfit, you have the freedom of choosing between high top or low top Jordans. Typically, it’s recommended to wear some slim fitting jeans / pants to highlight your Jordans as baggy pants can hang over the shoes which draws attention away. You can also rock some Jordans with short but keep in mind, you’re going to want to color co-ordinate. When wearing neutral tones, it’s best to get some Jordans that fit that color scheme.

Formal wear with Jordans is a bit trickier, but it can be done!

As shown below we have Kayne in some formal attire whilst still wearing the Jordan 1 Retro Bred “Banned” (2016).

What makes this work for me is the fact that he stuck to Jordans that had mostly black around the base with the red being the highlight. This worked really well for him but I can see how wearing multicolored Jordans with a black suit could look a little tacky. The main thing to keep in mind is to always color co-ordinate. There are exceptions to this rule though.

If you’re wearing an extremely bold outfit then it’s better to just go all out. You can go with hot pink and bright green if you’re main purpose is turning heads. This wouldn’t be suitable for many occasions but some days you just want to stand out and there’s always a pair of Jordans that can help you achieve that.
